Newsletter for January 2012

January 2nd, 2012

Welcome to a new year listeners, and readers. here at HitMeRadio, we want to take this time to say that we hope you have a safe, happy, and prosperous new year! With the new year rolling in, and all of the holidays rolling out, we’ve got much to talk about in this issue of our newsletter. So, we hope you enjoy this issue, and please do keep reading!

First of all, we would like to announce that we have since heard from DJ Tracy, and she will most likely be starting her shows back on a normal routine (odds are) come next week! It’s been crazy without you DJ Tracy, and the listeners, and staff have truly missed your shows. So, welcome back!

Next up, we do have a slight schedule adjustment that will be effective immediately, and that is regarding Metal Mayhem! Yes folks, Matt has decided to change his show once again on us, but hopefully for the last time. You can catch his show Metal Mayhem at its new time every Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (ET) right after The Midweek MadCap Show with Lady Rebel! This ought to make your Wednesday’s very interesting!

Speaking of schedule changes, we do have two new shows that will be airing on HitMeRadio as well. The first of which that airs on every Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (ET) is Sports Talk. This show is a syndicated podcast hosted by the folks at Sports Talk. This show is not live, and is indeed prerecorded. The show will also not announce any station identification, as it is a syndicated podcast, that may possibly be expanding to other internet radio stations. The other Show that is coming to our schedule is called HitMeTV. This show is hosted by our very own Hunter Parker. Based off the Sunday Nite’ Movie Matinee this show will only play TV shows instead of movies. The show will begin on Saturday’s from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (ET) right before The Saturday Magic Show with DJ MixDoctor.

The HitMe Hot 100s for 2011 was a huge success, and though Geno J did get a little tanked, it turned out not all that bad, and the show will always be remembered. If you’d like to relive the countdown of the top one hundred songs of 2011, you can download the show, or even last years, by going to http://www.hitmeradio.com/downloads/hh100/. We hope you find this page very useful, as we have provided a listen link, direct download link, and a page that displays all the one hundred songs that were played on each show.

With the new year here, and the successful launch of The HitMe Hot 100s we can also now say that you can request all songs from 1960 to 2011 on Robot-O-Mation. Our request system has been modified to accept an even more flexible search as well, so this should be additionally helpful when searching for a song or artist that you may not be sure of. So, feel free to give it a try, and let us know if you were able to find what you’re looking for. Remember, we’re always adding even more files to our Robot-O-Mation Request System, so you never know what you might find!

With the holidays out of the way, management has considered that you the listeners may get another opportunity to relive them again. It’s very likely that we will be doing an event sometime in the summer, called “Christmas in July” because for a couple reasons. First off, some of our broadcaster were unable to do a Christmas, or holiday show this past year, and why should the holiday season be celebrated once a year? After all, shouldn’t the meaning of Christmas be celebrated all year round? So, keep an eye out for a future newsletter with some more details about this event. Of course, you can relive all of the shows that did air this past year by going to those DJ’s websites like the Impromptu Christmas Special of The Monday Night Nighttime Rewind Show, that was covered by DJ Tim, The Holly Jolly Hunter Radio Show hosted by Hunter Parker, The Christmas Special of In The Nutshell hosted by Geno J and Hunter Parker, The Saturday Sleigh Wreck hosted by Lady Rebel, The KISSmas Special hosted by Kelly Mathews, Tracy’s Christmas Carnival of Music with DJ Tracy, and of course The Rockin’ “Around the Christmas Tree” Pop Party hosted by Geno J!

We are expecting to see more potential broadcasters in the coming weeks. We know we’ve said this last month, but this time we can say that we are looking at at least one new one within the week or two, but can’t say much more than that. If of course you are interested in becoming a broadcaster at our station, you are more than welcome to apply. We’re always looking for individuals who have a passion for music, or discussion. If you think you’ve got what it takes, we’re more than willing to help you get your own show on our station.

That though is pretty much it for this months issue of the newsletter. If we’re missing something in this issue, we apologize. Of course, you are more than welcome to send us feedback as to what should be mentioned in our next issue by going to our Contact Us page, or by simply leaving us a voicemail message on The HitMeRadio RantBox by dialing +1 (951) 262-2905, and pressing ‘option 3’ at the main menu. So, with all that said, we hope you all enjoy your week, and again make it a happy new year!

Newsletter for December 2011

December 1st, 2011

Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of The HitMe Herald. This year has certainly passed by very quickly, and we’re on our final month, and with that the last bit of holidays are fast approaching. We have much to talk about in this month’s issue of our newsletter, including; special programming occurring, our plans for automation, DJ’s both coming, and going, the return of The HitMe Hot 100s, an upcoming birthday, and anything else we can possibly squeeze into this issue. So, if this all sounds interesting, please by all means continue reading!

First off all, let’s get the bad news out of the way first. Unfortunately, DJ Angel has left our station, and we can honestly say for the last time. Her actions toward our station were certainly mutual, until her last interaction with management. She resigned recently, without providing enough adequate notice. This is a violation of our Volunteer Service Agreement, and with her history at the station sealed her fate here at HitMeRadio. We wish her the best, and have no hard feelings against DJ Angel, and hope she is happy “at her real home.”

However, we have been working with two new potential DJ’s off the air, and are pleased that they may be apart of our team by the very latest the new year. We won’t go into detail yet as to names, or show times, but one is new to our station, and the other is an old familiar face. One is also a male, and the other is female. That’s about all we’ll say about that, but by the next issue of our newsletter, we’ll be able to share more details with you our listeners.

With the holidays not to far off, our DJ’s are getting ready for there holiday specials. This year we have quite a few programs that are on tap for this month. First of all, on Monday December 19th, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. (ET) DJ Celrock kicks off our week first with a special Christmas Double-Shot Edition of The Monday Night Nighttime Rewind Show, playing a song by a particular artist, and then playing a holiday song that they performed as well. Odd’s are there will be no World’s Perspective Show this particular week, but if anything changes, we’ll let you know. We have no idea what Lady Rebel has in store for The Midweek Madcap Show on the 21st of December, but tune in at 2:00 p.m. (ET) and find out what she’s got planned. Should be a very interesting show to say the least. On Friday, December 23rd, we have a few programs on this day. It is unclear whether there will be a holiday edition of Kelly’s KISS Hour, but assuming that Kelly did certainly surprise us all on Halloween weekend with the tribute to Gene Simmons, there’s no telling what’s in store for that show. It’s possible it could be pre-recorded, or live, but keep an eye out on the mailing list, and tune in at 3:00 p.m. (ET) on this day to find out. However, we can tell you that you’ll all be able to catch The 2nd Annual Rockin’ “Around the Christmas Tree” Pop Party with Geno J at 7:00 p.m. (ET)  Last year, it didn’t exactly go as Geno J had planned it to go, but this year looks a bit more promising! It’s possible that Geno J may pre-record this show, or do it live, but you’ll all find out soon enough. Also, Hunter has mentioned that he will be doing a Christmas special of The Hunter Radio Show as well called The Holly Jolly Hunter Radio Show, so keep an eye out for that, as it will begin at 9:00 p.m. (ET) right after The Rockin’ “Around the Christmas Tree” Pop Party. Metal Mayhem with Matt Overstreet will be prerecorded most likely, or not be presented at all, but we will keep you updated if anything changes. On December 24th, Christmas Eve, The Saturday Smash at 1:00 p.m. (ET) ought to be interesting, as we have a feeling that Lady Rebel will be around to do the show, but if that changes, someone will let you all know one way or another. We can say that most likely there will be no Saturday Magic Show that week, but again if that changes we’ll be sure to let you all know. Finally, on Christmas Day, December 25th, join DJ Batman for Back to the Batcave, as he pulls out all the stops at 1:00 p.m. (ET) Then, In The Nutshell will be pre-recorded, but will have a Christmas special on at 8:00 p.m. (ET) There was talk about not playing a Christmas presentation of The Sunday Nite’ Movie Matinee, but at this point, we do believe there will be a movie on Christmas Day, immediately following the In The Nutshell Christmas Special, so there’s something else to be looking forward to as well! Yes, a lot to be said for this month’s holiday plans for various show’s on our station, and as mentioned if anything changes, you will all be quickly notified.

We did also state that we do have a birthday this month. DJ Celrock will be turning 27, on December 14th, but she has plans for you all on December 12th, for The Monday Night Nighttime Rewind Show at 8:00 p.m. (ET) that night, playing the bottom 40 hits (yes we said bottom 40 hits, and not top 40) of 1984, the year that DJ Celrock was obviously born. Why? Well, why not? We all know that DJ Celrock is a bit backwards at times, and this proves it. Regardless, we do hope DJ Celrock enjoys her birthday, and has many more birthday’s to come. After all, we wouldn’t want to see DJ Celrock croak tomorrow would we?

Speaking of The Monday Night Nighttime Rewind Show, and DJ Celrock, her edition of “The 60’s Nighttime Rewind Show was a great success, and she only has one more decade to cover. That decade the 70’s will be covered the day after Christmas, December 26th, at 8:00 p.m. (ET) with (wait for it…) The 70’s Nighttime Rewind Show! Yeah, so take down the Christmas decoration, and hang the disco ball, and join DJ Celrock for a night of dancing, and fun!

Now, we’ve gotten a lot of mixed feedback about our Robot-o-Mation system. Some have said it’s awesome that they can request there favorite songs, and others have said that it still needs some work. We would like to remind everyone that is a first for any internet radio station to privately build there own request system. We are listening to your suggestions, but this project is an ongoing effort, and still is being tediously improved by our streaming supervisor, and management here at our station. Our future goals are to add ‘wildcards’ which allow a more flexible search, when seeing the results on our Robot-o-Mation System, and improving the results for retrieving our holiday music.

Speaking of holiday music, we know that our holiday music hasn’t rotated much thus far, and we are working hard at improving it, but we do have some news to share with you all. We here at HitMeRadio are going to live up to our slogan, and are going to keep the holiday music in our library after January 1st, 2012. Why, you’re asking? Well, first off, we know it didn’t play that much over the past month, but we figured, it might be perfect for those that might want to hear a holiday favorite in the middle of July! We aren’t going to have the content be played, or rotated automatically during automation, but be will make it available for you the listeners to request the very least.

With the new year approaching, we do have plans for our 3rd Annual HitMe Hot 100’s as well! For those of you who missed last years edition, DJ Celrock hosted it, due to technical difficulties with Geno J’s computer, but this year, we can safely say that The HitMe Hot 100’s will be hosted by Geno J, and Hunter Parker. No, there will be no In The Nutshell on New Years Day, January 1st, 2012, instead at 6:00 p.m. (ET) right after Back to the Batcave with DJ Batman, join Geno J, and Hunter Parker as they count down the top 100 songs of 2011. On the show. You never know who they might have joining them, it could be anyone, but it’s a celebration that HitMeRadio gets to do only once a year, and this year is going to be amazing! And as always after the show, be listening for the new music from this past year in automation, as it will be in rotation right after the show, and available to request on Robot-O-Mation!

Anyhow, that is pretty much it for this edition. We have more news next month, and will inform you of all of it when that month comes. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or would like to send any kind of feedback to this newsletter, please feel free to send that along to us by using either our Contact Us form, or by calling the HitMeRadio Hotline at +1 (951) 262-2905, and hitting ‘option three’ at the main menu, and leaving it in the HitMeRadio RantBox. So, with all that said, we hope you all have a happy holiday season, and we’ll be here next year for another edition of The HitMe Herald!

Newsletter for November 2011

November 1st, 2011

Well, as usual it seems when one month passes, a crazy amount of crap happens to us here at HitMeRadio, and this month is no different. We have much to talk about including the public release of The Bobot-O-Mation Request System, some tweaks to the HitMeRadio Listeners Mailing List, some birthday announcements, and whatever else we can fit in this months newsletter.

First of all, we must inform you listeners, due to severe nor’easter that came straight out of nowhere, that hit much of New England with the whit fluffy ‘’s’ word that is considered a swear to any New Englander, our servers have been knocked out without power. Supposedly, a tree knocked a power line that killed power for not only our server, but also everyone else on that particular street. It is still unclear when power will be restored, but we will do our best to keep you posted, when the latest news becomes available. Until then, we will not be running any automation on our streaming servers, and have reverted our main links on our website to redirect you to our backup servers. When the power is restored, we will readjust the listen links on our website back to there defaults.

Over this past month though we did get one major accomplishment out of the way, and that was getting the Robot-O-Mation Request System up, and running. Is it perfect? No, not by any means, but your feedback in reporting any bugs that you may notice will help us out in the long run. So, if you’re tuned in, and notice something that is odd, that happens to occur during automation, please feel free to send us your feedback.

Speaking of automation, though this service is down, when it running again, your holiday music will be actively rotating up until January 1st, 2012, and you will be able to even request your holiday favorites as well. That isn’t the only thing that has been added to our automation as well, our streaming support representative Igor himself, has also decided to add some personal favorites into our automation system as well. He has created a lite-rotation system that will play the content in a periodic interval that is less compared to your normal rotation. What this also means is that we may possibly add even more content to the lite-rotation system in the near future. Time will only tell, the one thing that we can say is that big changes are coming around the corner for the new year!

In The Nutshell celebrates it’s 50th episode on November 6th, 2011! The show will consist of a look back at some of the best highlights that Geno J, and Hunter deem memorable, as well as discussions of other important highlights that may be coming in the next fifty episodes. It all begins at its normal time of 8:00 p.m. (Eastern) again on November 6th, 2011.

We do have some schedule announcements to discuss for this month. The first of which is DJ Tom has returned to from his leave of absence, and can be heard every Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. (Eastern) for two hours. The second bit of information that should be mentioned is that everyone’s beloved DJ Angel has taken a leave of absence. She is experiencing technical issues, and will hopefully return when they are resolved. DJ Tracy is still out of commission as well, but we continue to hope that she returns sooner, or later. A new show has arrived to our weekly schedule though, and that is The Saturday Smash, hosted by the rebellious Lady Rebel. The show is a metal show, and perfect for the individual that just wants to break things. The show can be heard every Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Eastern) and was a great success when it aired two weeks ago.

Speaking of Lady Rebel, she has a birthday this month! We won’t disclose her age, but we can say that it is on Tuesday, November 15th. We hope that she has a good birthday, and that all her wishes come true, and not just these wishes for this year, but for many more birth days to come.

Another upcoming show that will be occurring this month is the 2nd annual Rockin’ Moment in History Special of The Rockin’ Pop Party! The anticipated date of this show is Friday, November 18, 2011, and for to those of you who are unaware of what this show consists of, it is a look back at all The Rockin’ Moment in History’s from the past thirty shows of The Rockin’ Pop Party! This time, the show should be a good one, especially with all the great music that has aired in the past 30 weeks! Keep an eye out for more details regarding this show, as things could possibly change as time creeps closer.

Some of you may of remembered last month we had mentioned a big change was to occur to our website this month, well we feel it’s time that you all should know. As some of you may know HitMeRadio’s site was going to expire this month, and we weren’t to sure if we were willing to pay another $108 for another year with our current hosting provider, so we were looking at alternative solutions. It turns out that we were able to negotiate a more reasonable price for our website. To be honest, this put a lot of relief of many of our staff, as the move would have been very annoying, and extremely time consuming. Now, that the move is not happening, we will be doing some tweaks to the site in the coming months that will improve our Contact Us page, and revisions to our Affiliates page. We will update you all when we have this project complete.

That about wraps up this issue of this months newsletter, but we do hope you all enjoyed reading this months issue, and as always you’re more than welcome to send feedback by visiting our Contact Us page, or by leaving a voicemail message on The RantBox on The HitMeRadio Hotline. Thanks for reading this months issue, and we’ll be back next month to provide you news for this past month.

Newsletter for October 2011

October 1st, 2011

Well folks, here we are in October, and it’s scary to think about, but we’re really getting closer to the holiday season. It seems like it was only yesterday, that we were enjoying 90 degree and wearing only a t-shirt, and shorts outside. Anyhow in this months newsletter, we will attempt to discuss everything that has occurred in this past month, like the Robot-O-Mation Request System that never happened, the leave of absence from a few staff members, the return of a DJ, that just recently left our station, and a couple of schedule adjustments, and anything else that we think might be of importance to you, our valued listeners.

First of all, it comes to know surprise to some of you that DJ Angel has indeed returned to HitMeRadio. You can catch her show Angel’s Party every Tuesday night from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (ET) The show is not for the light hearted, and definitely an awesome example of the word “random.” If you’d like to contact DJ Angel, she can be reached by e-mail at djangel@hitmeradio.com. So, if you’re interested in catching her show, because you don’t get enough randomness, you know where, and went to tune in!

Next up, we do have a few leave of absences to announce. First, and foremost, DJ Tracy will not be doing Tracy’s Carnival of Music, due to some technical difficulties. It is unclear when these technical issues will be resolved, but we will inform you as soon as possible. Secondly, DJ Tom it seems has confirmed that he needs a leave of absence, due to personal reasons, and that’s where we’ll leave that. We’ll update you all on the return of DJ Tom, when he has indeed stated that he would like to return. Thirdly, Hunter Parker is dealing with a situation that involves a family medical instance, and has elected to take a leave of absence, but has stated that he would return by the end of October, or early November. Finally, the one that really isn’t a leave of absence in a sense, because they have been absent for a couple weeks at the moment, and should be returning within the next two weeks is “the one, and only, DJ Celrock.” Surprisingly, she is dealing with a rather buggy situation, to say the least, but she will return most likely by no later than October 10, 2011. Hopefully by the end of November, we should see at least most if not all the staff return from their leave of absences.

The other thing that has occurred over the last month are some new schedule announcements. We obviously know that those on a leave of absence, won’t be doing there shows, but other than that there are a few additional schedule adjustments that have indeed been taken into an effect to our weekly schedule. First of which is one that involves the line-up on Wednesday night, in this case the only show on Wednesday involving Lady Rebel, and what once was Musical Mayhem. Lady Rebel has elected to change her show title, and slightly adjust the format of the show as well. The new show name is called “The Midweek Madcap Show” taking on a somewhat familiar show title that use to air on our station, but just named a bit differently. All in all, we agree with Lady Rebel, that the show has changed for the better. For details about the description of the show, check out our schedule on our website. The next show to be adjusted involves everyone’s beloved “metal head” Matt Overstreet. He has elected to move his show Metal Mayhem to a new time of 11:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (ET) Friday’s, right after Hunter’s timeslot The Hunter Radio Show. Same show, title, and format, just on at a new time.

It appears we owe everyone an apology. Many of you know that we have been spreading hype about our Robot-O-Mation Request System being done by Labor Day. Well, Labor Day has come, and gone, and though we can state that the system is up, and running, (sort of) it is still not yet ready for our general audience, as there is many bugs, or technical glitches with the new feature. Just to name a few one causes the requests to play in reverse order, another causes our Request ID’s to stop working if the request follows a 30 minute sweeper, another causes all the Request IDs to be played if multiple requests were submitted at the same time, another words you’d hear for instance “x” number of Request IDs be played first, and then that particular number of requests being played one, after another, just to name a few. So, as you can see, we still have some work to get resolved before we can publicly make this available.

Speaking of our automation, in just one month, we are indeed rolling out the Holiday music. The music lasts from November 1st, to January 1st of 2012. Some new stuff will have been added, and you will be able to even request our holiday music, granted that the bugs have been worked out by that point. Obviously the system will start spitting out holiday music sometime through the night or by early morning on November 1st. For those new to our station, and are not familiar of how this works, a holiday song is randomly played after one regularly rotated song from when a half hour sweeper is played, another words, it’s not entirely holiday music, which would get very old, very quickly. If you’re more curious about how the holiday music works, or any other feature of our automation system, such as the new Robot-O-Mation Request System, you are welcome to send you’re inquiries to us, and a member of our station, will explain it as best as they can to you.

Well, with all that mentioned, we do have two more announcements to make. We did indeed have a birthday last month that did occur to one of our staff members. In case you missed it, DJ Tom did recently have a birthday. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 (yes, just a couple days ago) Nevertheless, he is now twenty years old, and is only one year a way from getting the opportunity to drink himself silly, if he so desires. (not a good idea DJ Tom… LOL) Another birthday coming up at the end of the month is Hunter Parker’s. He’ll be turning eighteen on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. (Hunter is growing up, and turning into a man! LOL) Seriously though, we do hope Hunter has an awesome birthday, and hope that all his birthday wishes do come true, as well as many more to come.

Anyways, that’ll do it for this months issue of our monthly newsletter. We do hope you found this months issue rather enjoyable, and we will undoubtedly be back next month, with a lot more news to share with you all, that much is for sure, as you will most likely not even notice most of the news that will be occurring to the station. But don’t worry, we’ll fill you in. Thanks again for reading this months issue, and we’ll be back next month!

Newsletter for September 2011

September 1st, 2011

Well another month has passed us by, and it’s amazing but it does seem the summer holidays are ending, and we’re already getting into the new season of autumn. In this month’s newsletter we’ll be talking about new DJ”s coming to the station, some leaving, perhaps some slight adjustments to the schedule for the month of September, the long awaited Robot-o-Mation system becoming available, and anything else we see fit discusing with you, our loyal listeners!

First off, it’s with great regret that we inform you that DJ Angel has left HitMeRadio! Her shows Angel’s Party, and Late Night with DJ Angel will be sourly missed. Her positive spirit, and humorous on air presence will definitely be missed as well. Regardless, we wish her the best, and definitely welcome her back should she choose to come back!

With one DJ gone though, we are pleased to announce we do have a new DJ that has joined the team! We are pleased to welcome DJ Tim, otherwise known as Timothy Appleby. He resides from our neighbor from the north, in Edmonton, Alberta, CA. He won’t be doing a show on our station, but he will be filling in for any of our on-air hosts that may not be able to do there show. Most likely Tim will be working with our very own DJ Tom, in assuring that his shows get played on the air each and every week. However, we’ll all keep you posted on that in the near future.

There have been some schedule changes, in regards to shows that air on our station too. First of all, it might be sad news, but The Tech Hour will be ending it’s series on Labor Day weekend, which is September 4, 2011. However, the Tech Hour will live on as a 10 minute tech segment during The Hunter Radio Show. The segment called The 10 Minute Tech Tip will be a brief summery of different technology news that the Tech Hour normally covered but much more concentrated, and to the point. Feel free to send suggestions of future topics to Hunter Parker, host of The Hunter Radio Show, and he’ll be glad to consider any feedback you might have regarding ideas for future topics of this innovative feature to be added to The Hunter Radio Show!

Next up, The Monday Night Nighttime Rewind Show will be airing two hours earlier on Labor Day, that’s September 5, 2011, at 6:00 p.m. instead of 8:00 p.m. (ET). DJ Celrock has other obligations on the following day, that prevent her from doing the show at its normal time. These obligations regarding her enrollment at MCLA. (Massachusetts College for Liberal Arts) may effect her show here on HitMeRadio, but we’ll keep you all up to date if anything does interfere with the current scheduled time slot for The Monday Night Nighttime Rewind Show.

We do have some news regarding In The Nutshell as well. We hope to reveal Part 2 of As the Station Turns. We do plan on leaving it at a cliff hanger, just in case we decide to continue the series at a later point. Regardless, you should be able to catch the sequel this Sunday, that’s September 4, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. (ET) We’ll be picking it off right from where we left off, so should you need a refresher as to exactly what happened in the first part, feel free to download the original archive that it aired on, which was January 9, 2011 located here.

In other news, we are excited to announce that this coming Monday, (Labor Day) September 5, 2011 will be the launch of our long awaited Robot-O-Mation. This feature should be available sometime during this day. It is unclear still, but it will be announced on our mailing list, as well as publicly posted on both our Twitter, and Facebook Fan Page as well. We hope this becomes a fan favorite, and something that will put our internet radio station on the top, when it comes to independent internet radio stations, that rely on very little, or no services at all.

Speaking of In The Nutshell, it will be it’s one year anniversary since it re-aired on September 6, 2010. The show use to be prerecorded over the weekend, and aired on Sunday night’s. Not only will Geno J, and Hunter be airing Part 2 of As the Station Turns, and review this months newsletter, but they’ll find sometime to talk about the history, and of coarse it’s future as well. This all again happens this Sunday at 8:00 p.m. (ET) so don’t miss it!

With all that said, that pretty much covers this edition of our monthly newsletter. We do hope you enjoyed this issue, and found it at least informative. If there was something that we had forgotten, please feel free to send feedback by visiting our Contact Us page, or by leaving a voicemail message on our RantBox at +1 (951) 262-2905, and dialing ‘option 3’ at the main menu. Thanks again for reading this issue, and we hope you find next months issue just as informative!

Newsletter for August 2011

August 1st, 2011

It’s still hot and steamy out there, and we’re still hot with all the new news that has been going on here at HitMeRadio! In this issue of our newsletter, we’ll take the time to talk about a new DJ coming to the station, a couple of milestones going on at our fine station, some very exciting news about the long awaited “Robot-o-Mation,” a couple of announcements regarding some DJ’s, and whatever else we can fit into this months newsletter! This, and much more, so keep reading!

First of all, we’d like to welcome another brand new DJ to HitMeRadio! Please give a warm welcome to Kelly Matthews, from Caruthersville, Missouri. He can be heard every Friday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. (Eastern) with Kelly’s Kiss Hour. He’ll be premiering this Friday, August 5, 2011, so show him your love, and come tune into the show!

As of late, we’ve hit a lot of milestones, not just the station, but some of the staff here as well. We’ll start off with DJ Tom, and his show The World’s Perspective Show. He now has a brand new website, provided by the folks at WordPress.org. This is a very nice feature, because now you can search for all his shows. Currently there is still some that still need to be added to the archives area of his website, but within a few weeks, you’ll be able to retrieve every single show that he’s done! In other news, Geno J will be hitting show number fifty of The Rockin’ Pop Party this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. (Eastern) so that is something you do not want to miss as well! Finally, In The Nutshell is only 10 shows away from its 50th show. That’s right, it just aired for the 40th time this past Sunday. More details, will come when it hits its 50th episode. With all those milestones mentioned, we told you that we’ve been hot these past few weeks!

Now, we know you all hear it every month, the long awaited instant request feature, or its more recent project name “Robot-o-Mation.” We do finally have some good news on this, and that is that it WILL (that’s right) will be ready for Labor Day weekend! The Requests page will be updated once this feature is available, and will be updated on all our mediums, such as Facebook, Twitter, and our Listeners Mailing List, that we can assure you of. Instructions will be provided when its finally available.

Now, with the summer months still here, there are still some schedule announcements that need to be mentioned. First of all, Hunter Parker will be taking the next two weeks off, and will be enjoying his camping trip. He leaves Sunday, August 7, 2011, and should return within two weeks, which is Friday, August 19, 2011. Secondly, DJ Tracy returns to the airwaves with Tracy’s Carnival of Music on this Monday, August 8, 2011. Then, we have DJ Angel. She has slightly adjusted her shows on our schedule as well. You can still catch Angel’s Party from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Eastern) right before DJ Celrock’s Monday Night Nighttime Rewind Show, but her show on Tuesday’s has slightly changed. The show on Tuesday is now called Late Night with DJ Angel, and it can be heard from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (Eastern) Next, DJ Tom has once again changed his show as well. You can now catch The World’s Perspective Show with DJ Tom from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Tuesday night’s, right before Late Night with DJ Angel. Last, but not least, DJ MixDoctor returns as well, so you can catch his show The Saturday Magic Show at 8:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Saturday, August 6, 2011. So, there you go folks, all the schedule announcements for the month of August.

That about does it for this issue of The HitMe Herald. We hope you enjoyed this issue. If you have any feedback, please feel free to send them to management, by visiting our Contact Us page, or by leaving a message on the HitMeRadio RantBox at (951) 262-2905, and hitting ‘option 3’ at the main menu. Thanks so much for reading this months newsletter, and we’ll be back next month for another issue!

Newsletter for July 2011

July 7th, 2011

Each passing day, it seems summer has made a hotter impact to HitMeRadio, and it certainly is true with all the things that have been occurring here at HitMeRadio! We’ll take the time to talk about some new DJ’s that have come to the station, some changes to the schedule due to the summer, the much anticipated Robot-O-Mation feature, the return of our “currently playing snippet,” and “flash player”, and whatever else we think is important!

First off, last month Straight Out of the Blue with Geno J did it’s final presentation on HitMeRadio. The program has been moved to a new internet radio station. For more information regarding this, please feel free to contact DJ Celrock for more details. The archives of the shows that aired on HitMeRadio still can be accessed directly from the following URL, http://genoj.hitmeradio.com/sob/archives/. Geno J had decided that with everything else going on in his life, he had very little time to spread himself that thin, to do that particular show. If you have anymore questions regarding why Geno J discontinued the show, feel free to contact him at anytime.

Last month we also got a total of two DJ’s that have joined our station as well, one of which returned. First, please welcome back DJ Angel. (formerly known as DJ Panda) She has returned to the airwaves, and has been on the air a few times with Angel’s Party, which can be heard on every Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (ET) right before DJ Celrock’s Monday Night Nighttime Rewind Show. She originally came to the station, requesting to do two shows, but at this time, she plans on only doing this show at this current time. The other DJ, or on air host (would be probably more fitting) is Matt Overstreet. His show, Metal Mayhem can be heard right before Geno J’s Rockin’ Pop Party! His show from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (ET) consists of a lot of metal music, mixed in with your random stuff too! You can visit there websites by visiting http://www.hitmeradio.com/staff.htm.

With summer here though it does mean that there have been some slight changes to the schedule here at HitMeRadio. Some temporary, and other’s more permanent. First of which regards DJ Tracy. For the next three weeks she will not be doing her show, due to some prior summer obligations. Secondly, due to medical reasons Geno J will not be doing The Rockin’ Pop Party on July 15th, 2011. He’ll be going under the knife for a minor eye procedure. With any luck, he’ll be back on the 17th, to do In The Nutshell. Finally, as we mentioned the new shows will be effective this coming week, some of which will already have been aired.

Over the past weekend, Geno J sat down with our good friend Igor Gueths, Streaming Support Representative of HitMeRadio, and hashed out the much anticipated Robot-O-Mation feature. Igor has recently moved from the state of Missouri, to Texas, and has a full-time job as a network administrator for a large web hosting provider. Thus, we must stress that the feature will be postponed once again. Considering this feature is not costing HitMeRadio any out of pocket expenses we can’t complain. We’ll keep you all up to date if anything else changes. We’re aiming hopefully for Labor Day weekend, but again, we will certainly keep you informed if anything new is available to announce.

We also are pleased to announce the return of the “Currently Playing Snippet.” This feature is provided to us by Airshock LLC. This nice little snippet provides you the currently playing track that is being played on both automation, and if any live programming is on, on our streaming servers. Our web-based flash player has also returned as well. The player is provided to us by our good friends at Lava-net.com. Slowly but surely, we are tweaking all of the bugs out of the new website at HitMeRadio.com, but we are pleased to say that most of them have been tackled, and can safely say that there is very few left, if any at all. However, if you do find one, feel free to send your feedback by visiting our website at anytime.

Those of you who have liked us on our Facebook Fan Page may have noticed that we are now using “Selective Tweets,” which allow us to post from Twitter, to Facebook. You may be asking yourself; “I thought you had this feature already?” Well, we did, but it would only work in the reverse order. It allowed us to post to Twitter from Facebook. This new feature allows us to post from Twitter, to Facebook, which is a lot more beneficial as most our staff here at HitMeRadio do use Twitter over Facebook. If you do notice our Twitter Timeline, most our tweets contain a “#fb” at the end of the tweet, this is the “Selective Tweets” working in action. Simply ignore it, as it is rather annoying, but a minor setback to our tweets on Twitter.

That’s about it for this issue, though if you do have any feedback that you wish to comment on, feel free to visit our Contact Us page, or by leaving a voicemail message on our RantBox on the HitMeRadio Hotline, and we’ll get back to you as quickly as possible. Thanks again for reading this newsletter this month, and we’ll be more prompt on sending out next months newsletter more on time!

Newsletter for June 2011

June 1st, 2011

Well another month has passed, and that means it’s time for another newsletter from us here at HitMeRadio! A lot has happened in this month, and we’ll get to it all. We’ll discuss everything from The MixUp MashUp Week to new DJ’s that have joined the station, to some taking hiatuses. We hope you find this newsletter informative, and entertaining. So, with out further or due, we’ll get right into it.

First of all, The MixUp MashUp Week was a great success, and we will be doing this event next year! However, next year there should hopefully be more shows, and DJ’s that will be involved in the new upcoming year. We will most likely be doing the MixUp MashUp Week on the third week of May, so that is definitely something to look forward to.

The new website is up, and public! It was a lot of hard work, but it’s finally done, and 100 % accessible, to make it easier for those with blind, or visually impaired issues. The site’s setup, is still setup in some ways like it was before, to make it familiar to those without any disabilities. but with different colors, themes, and of coarse a brand new logo! The Schedule Page, has been modified for easy navigation, the Requests Page has been modified to support our upcoming new feature to make requests using our Automated Request system, which will be called “Robot-o-Mation,” as well as our Be A DJ Page, Sunday Nite’ Movie Matinee, HitMeRadio Listener List application, and more! To get a real look at the new website, we encourage you to visit our new website located at http://www.hitmeradio.com! Should you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the new look, feel of our website, feel free to send your feedback, by visiting our Contact Us Page.

Recently, management has received word that DJ Tracy will be taking a hiatus for at least a couple of weeks, to a couple of months. Her show has indeed been discontinued, and will not be live during this time, unless a member of our staff here at our station decides to fill-in for her. If this happens, we’ll keep you posted, and we’ll inform you also when DJ Tracy will be returning on a normal basis.

Also, another staff member that will be temporarily unable to do his shows is Hunter Parker. Unfortunately, he is also experiencing computer difficulties. However, he will be still involved as much as he can, and this does not mean that In The Nutshell will be effected. However, The Tech Hour, and The Hunter Radio Show may be filled in by someone else from our station. If this happens, Management will definitely keep you posted. This shouldn’t be very long, and this is not as serious as what DJ Tracy is going through, but we’ll definitely again keep you posted.

With the warmer weather coming soon, and in some cases already here for some of us, we are looking forward to doing some special shows on HitMeRadio! One of which will be coming in the coming weeks. Some of these include The Rockin’ Pop Moment in History Special, a special 90’s Nite Time Rewind, the sequel to “As The Station Turns,” and many other interesting upcoming events. The Rockin’ Pop Moment in History will be occurring on July 8th, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. (ET) and will be hosted by Geno J. The one-time return of The 90’s Nite’ Time Rewind will be returning in two weeks on June 13, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. (ET) during The Monday Night Nighttime Rewind Show hosted by Geno J as well, and the sequel of “As The Station Turns” should be coming in late July, or early August. So you see? A lot to look forward to, and we do hope you’ll be around for all of it!

Not only will there be special shows coming this summer, but there is already some brand new shows on HitMeRadio too! First there is the show "Back to the Bat Cave” with DJ Batman that airs every Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (ET) which consists of just about anything imaginable. You may all remember him as DJ Ivan, as he was previously known as about a year ago on HitMeRadio. Next another show that has been added to our weekly schedule is Musical Mayhem, with Lady Rebel from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday’s! Yes, she has returned as well, but with a new show. Both these shows are very entertaining, and we all here at HitMeRadio encourage you to check those out!

Management has received a lot of questions as to when the new automated request system, which we’ll be calling Robot-o-Mation, as we previously mentioned. Unfortunately, due to the fact that we are getting this service free of charge, and there has been a lot of things going on with both management here at HitMeRadio, and Igor Gueths, our Streaming Service Provider, we cannot still put a date on when this system will be launched, but we’re not putting it off, we promise. It is a lot of hard work to build this system from scratch, but when it is up, there will be a huge advantage compared to other internet radio stations. Our system will be completely independent, and will be nearly 100 % flexible for future changes. Not only will you listeners be able to request your favorite songs, but it’s possible we may even be able to allow you the listeners to hear archived shows, that is if our staff choose to upload there content to this system. Of coarse, this feature is still again a long way off from being finished, and we’ll keep you up to date of any upcoming announcement regarding this new feature.

HitMeRadio is now looking for affiliates, or partners to partner with! If you, or someone you know is looking for a good method to spread the word about your product, or service, you should either let them know about this new announcement, or go check out our Affiliates Page located on the bottom of just about every page of our new website!

There are some upcoming schedule changes that you all should be aware of as well. Starting June 17, 2011, The The Hunter Radio Show will be airing immediately after The Rockin’ Pop Party, that means you get four hours of your favorite rock, and pop favorites, and a Rockin’ Moment in History, as well as The Mixed Bag all in one night. Keep in mind this is if everything goes to plan with Hunter Parker, getting his technical issues resolved. Those of you who are asking where is The Tech Hour moving too, well it will be on Sunday’s from 7:00 p.m. (ET) right before In The Nutshell. This means you get two hours of talk, on your Sunday nights!

It hasn’t been discussed much, but there is a secret project being worked on as well. Those of you who visited HitMeRadio’s website might have noticed that there is no longer a Downloads Page. There is a reason for this. Not only did the new navigation, and look of the website make it difficult to add to the website, but there is another reason as well. We will be making a public Downloads Page that will be accessible from the main homepage in the comnig months. This area on our website will give you the listeners a centralized location to retrieve all archives of our DJ’s shows, as well as any special shows that get aired on our station, such as the HitMe Hot 100’s that airs around the first week of January, as well as any other special shows, from now, until then. Though its still weeks to months before there is any more news about it, we’ll do our best to keep you informed!

Finally, some of you may already know that HitMeRadio has partnered with gbj Imaging, and in doing so, this will help keep HitMeRadio going strong. WHy you ask? Well, the expenses of HitMeRadio have become a bit difficult to pay, but no fear, HitMeRadio will not be closing its doors because of the expenses. Not only would this disappoint all our listeners, but our staff as well. So, in an effort to keep the station on its feet, nearly half, or more of the income that gbj Imaging receives will be used to keep our fine station running! We’re mentioning this, because gbj Imaging is doing a promotional stunt! Starting today, become a fan of gbj Imaging’s fan page on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter, and you’ll receive one FREE order of any size! But hurry, this offer may not last!

That’s it folks, that is this months newsletter! We hope you enjoyed it, and as always if you have any feedback regarding our newsletters, we are always here to listen to your feedback! Send them to our Contact Us Page, or by leaving them in our RantBox on the HitMeRadio Hotline at +1 (951) 262-2905, and hit option ‘3.’ Until next time everyone, enjoy yourselves, and we’ll send out our next newsletter in a month from now!

Newsletter for May 2011

May 1st, 2011

Well, it’s official, we can now say that our internet radio station has been around for three long years. A lot has happened, and we’re glad that we could be around to see it all happen. You the listeners are what drive this station to keep going. Nevertheless, we have much to discuss in this months issue of our newsletter. We’ll take the time to talk about a new feature we’re going to bring in the coming weeks, a possible new DJ coming to HitMeRadio, as well as other informative news.

First off, we would like to thank everyone for being around to see our three year anniversary. It was a huge success, and we hope to be around for many more years to come. We value you as a listener here at our internet radio station, and welcome you to continue tuning into the station that hits you hard with what you want to hear.

DJ Celrock has indeed moved her Innovative Spinning Thrills of Variety Show. Her 100th episode was a huge success, and is still available on her website at http://djcelrock.hitmeradio.com/. If you wish to continue listening to her show, feel free to visit her show’s website, for more details.

Straight Out of the Blue finally makes it’s premiere broadcast on May 10th, 2011 at 8pm (ET) to 12am! (ET) The show should be a good one. If you haven’t tuned into the show before, then it’s probably a good suggestion that you tune in on this day, to get an idea of what to expect when the show makes it’s premiere on this day. The website for this show may not necessarily be up yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy this awesome show.

In other news, Hunter Parker’s show “The Tech Hour” has taken DJ Celrock’s old timeslot, and can be heard from 9pm to 10pm (ET) on of coarse Friday night. His show, a technology show, talks about a wide variety of topics all involving technology, even some things for the blind, and visually impaired. For more information, feel free to visit his website at anytime.

We’re planning a special week here at HitMeRadio called “The MixedUp Mashup Week” here at our station. This week should be a lot of fun, and involves all current members at our station! The idea is that no DJ will be doing there own show that week. Instead, each DJ will be doing another DJ’s show that week. More details will be given to you, our listeners, when we have gotten all our DJ’s involved with this new idea. It is possible that this may be an annual event as well, if it goes well, in the coming weeks.

We recently acquired a new DJ at the station. Though he has not done his first test broadcast yet, we have high hopes that he’ll be heard very soon on the air, here at HitMeRadio. DJ MixDoctor, should be on the air in a couple of weeks. If all goes to plan, he will be heard every Saturday night from 8pm to 10pm (ET) on Saturday’s, with his show called “The Saturday Magic Show.” We’ll keep you all posted as to the approximate date of when you’ll be able to here his first show.

Meanwhile, management is still hard at work on getting our brand new website up, and available for the general public. We at one point were seriously debating whether or not to move our website to a new web hosting provider, but because of some current setbacks, we are not going to do that right at this moment. It still is possible that we may move our web hosting provider at some point, but right now, you can rest assured that we’re not going anywhere right now. If at a later point we do, you can only expect a small downtime of our website, but our streaming services will remain running.

Recently, we’ve acquired two spare SHOUTcast servers at our station. One is being used for our test server, but the other is being used as a backup server. Now, when our new website is complete our backup server will be our primary server, and the current server we’re using will be used for our backup. These servers were provided by AirSHOCK, but with  the recent situations going on with other clients of AirSHOCK, it is possible that we may drop this service, if they wind up charging us. We were told that because gbj Imaging has offered to provide free audio production work, that this would not be the case. However, if it does, you the listeners have nothing to fear, as our streaming links on our website will be updated accordingly, if such an event did occur.

Now, you’re probably asking, “How is the automated request feature coming along?” and we don’t blame you for asking. Gene Johnson, the station manager has been working diligently with Igor Gueths, our streaming service technician to get this feature up, and running. We have begun the process, and it might seem like nothing new has been happening, we can say that it is coming a long. Slowly, but surely, we do hope to meet the deadline of Memorial Day weekend. If it doesn’t we’ll obviously let you know, one way, or another.

Finally, our hotline has been revised as well. The management option now has instructions on how to contact Gene Johnson, the station manager, and Hunter Parker, the assistant manager. Hunter Parker has also added a cool feature to our Newsletter option, on option #4. You can now skim through the newsletter by hitting the number ‘2’ to rewind, ‘3’ to fast forward, or press ‘8’ to pause. That has become a popular favorite as of late, and we hope you enjoy it as well.

With all that said, that pretty much raps up this issue of our monthly newsletter. If you think we’ve forgotten something though,. please by all means, feel free to contact us, and let us know what you think it is we should add. We’ll do our best to get back to you on a timely fashion. To contact us, visit our Contact Us page, and follow all the instruction provided there. Again, we hope you found this newsletter informative, and we all hope you have a wonderful month. Until next month, goodbye!

Newsletter for April 2011

April 4th, 2011

So, it’s finally April, and we’re less than three weeks away from our anniversary. Three amazing years it’s been, and we’re happy to share those experiences with all of you! A lot of news to report this month, but we’ll have plenty of time to share all of that with you. From show announcements, to DJ’s leaving, to new promotional material, to show changes it all will be mentioned, and more!

First off, many of you might have noticed that our poll for the Sunday Nite’ Movie Matinee has changed. Now, you have more control of what movie gets played on the show! No more picking from four movies, just enter the name of the movie that best suits your fancy, submit the title to us, and everyone at the station will receive it, and it will eventually be played on the show.

Some of you may have seen on the schedule a new show that was to supposedly air called The Rants and Ravings Show, hosted by DJ Big Mouth. Well, unfortunately we had to dismiss him from the station, due to the lack of effort that was being put in on his end. We do however, hope wherever he goes, that he is happy. It is sad that he never actually was able to perform a single show for us, but that is just how some things go.

HitMeRadio is teaming up with LevTec, and will be promoting there products, and services that they offer currently, they provide a very nice accessible program called "the LevTec Speaking Clock. Eventually, you’ll be seeing promotional material on our stream regarding the product, and perhaps a future interview with the man behind the speaking clock Levi himself.

Those of you that did not listen to the Monday Nite’ Nighttime Rewind Show last week, probably are aware that there will no longer be a poll for the different years to vote for on that show. For some, it might come as to a shock that the show didn’t seem to puck up many results from the poll, but it was true. DJ Celrock has decided that it’s best to do without the poll, and here’s hoping it lasts at least 3 weeks. With the new format of her show, she will also be revealing a brand new intro for that show as well. To hear it, make sure you tune in tonight, as it will be revealed tonight!

We mentioned earlier that we’re only less than three weeks away from our three year anniversary, and it’s true, and we have some pretty good programming that will be occurring through that weekend as well. It all kicks off with Geno J, with the Rockin’ Pop Party at 7:00 pm, (ET) where we’ll be presenting our last professional sweeper that HitMeRadio will be purchased from any production site. All future audio talent will be received from gbj Imaging. Then, the 100th episode of the Innovative Spinning Thrills of Variety Show with none other than DJ Celrock. That should be an amazing show, and one that you shouldn’t miss! After the show, HitMeRadio will be playing awesome movies that you all voted for, or have submitted to us, all the way up until Hunter’s show The Hunter Radio Show. What does Hunter have up his sleeve for this show? None of us here at the station don’t even know, and it might be safe to say that even Hunter probably doesn’t know. Then, a special two hour episode of In The Nutshell will bring you right up until 10:00 pm. (ET) It is possible that we may add some reruns of the programming after that, but you’ll all know more very soon. Then, on Monday, DJ Tracy presents Tracy’s Carnival of Music, as a prerecorded presentation, but nevertheless, a good show. Next up that night, the day of the anniversary is another show done by DJ Celrock, The Monday Nite’ Nighttime Rewind Show. It should be pretty interesting to swee what DJ Celrock has chosen to do for this show, as much of us still don’t have a clue. Finally, it might be one night late, but don’t miss the last prequel presentation of Straight Out of the Blue with Geno J.  It ought to be very interesting, especially if there’s any liquor around!

If you’ve been following us on Facebok, and Twitter, you might know that we’ve gotten started working on our new website! You also might know that we’re actually giving you all a sneak peak. Only for a limited time, you can view our brand new website just by following the link at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6261512/temp.htm. Yes, it is a Dropbox link, so don’t be confused. As we mentioned before, it will be a brand new look, new colors, new links, and a lot more. For the release of the actual website, you’ll half to keep an eye out in our mailing list, or any Facebook status, or Tweets on our Twitter page.

Finally, as a practical joke to Hunter, station manager Geno J had him really going there during this past In The Nutshell. Hunter was told that he would be involved in a practical joke that involved him being Acting General Manager. He was told that this would be an April Fool’s Joke to present to you all the listeners. However, to Hunter’s surprise, he was the one being fooled, as it was true. Effective April 23rd, Hunter will now be apart of management, as Assistant Manager. He will be taking the role of DJ Celrock, as she steps down. Hunter, will be our youngest member of management, and will fill-in when needed.

Finally, in an effort to clean up our station’s programming, and our DJ’s as well, we will be doing some spring cleaning at our station, so that you our listeners can enjoy more timely, and regular programming that occurs more frequently.  We appreciate all the feedback we received from you listeners about the performance of some of our DJ’s at the station, and will be working in making those effective changes.

So, between all of that said above, and closing out this newsletter, we hope you all enjoyed it, and keep HitMeRadio as your number one station that hits you hard with what you want to hear! Remember, if you have any feedback at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us, and we’ll do our best to help you out! Thanks again everyone for reading this months’s letter, and we hope you all enjoy your week!
